On March 1st 2016, the franco-ontarian singer-songwriter Janie Ren\u00e9e will be launching her 3rd album titled \u00ab\u00a0Eden is a Bazar\u00a0\u00bb at La Nouvelle Sc\u00e8ne in Ottawa.<\/p>\n

Known as an\u00a0\u201cunconventional\u201d artist, Janie has had a love affair with words ever since she can remember.\u00a0 Nominated in 2015 in the Best Singer-Songwriter category at the Trille Or gala, she proposes an immersion in a parallel world where jazz progressions, Latin rhythms and clever lyrics collide to create her signature \u201chybrid jazz\u201d.\u00a0 Since her last album, \u201cLes Valises\u201d launched in late 2012, her luggage has seen a few continents and numerous countries in Europe, Austria but mainly in the Caribbean where her career gained a particular momentum from her showcase at the Carimex Martinique.<\/p>\n

In her world-jazz universe, L’\u00c9den est un Bazar offers twelve original pieces, through which Janie Ren\u00e9e creates a voluptuous atmosphere: you\u2019ll find swing, bossas, biguines, sambas, tangos- layered with sometimes humorous and boisterous lyrics, but all in good taste.\u00a0 She has been compared to contemporaries such as Claude Nougaro or Henri Salvador, but the truth is, she is quite unique in her special blend of jazz\u2026<\/p>\n
