A new album…the first steps
What do you know…even good plans change! In June of 2015, I received the news that Musicaction was going to provide financial help for the creation of my new album; what joy! But as I sat down to review the pieces I wanted on that album, I realized that I was now dreaming of something else than what I had planned. As fate has it, two weeks later, I had written 8 new tunes that were now living up to this new direction I wanted. Once I had structured everything and written out all of the summary charts and some ideas for arrangements, I sought out my partner in crime Louis to iron out the creases…
In his basement, with all the courage we could muster, we set out to work on all of the arrangements yet again one by one. We recorded some guide tracks to share the “atmosphere” of each tune with the other musicians from the rhythm section. And because nothing in my life can be really simple, we encounted a crazy F that wanted to be a part of all of it! None of those tunes were in F! Go figure…
