The CD recorded in the summer of 2012 in Montreal and Ottawa, included some of the best Canadian jazz musicians around, notably Ottawa’s own Mark Ferguson (trombone), Nick Dyson (trumpet), Mike Tremblay (baritone sax) and René Lavoie (alto sax). The solid rhythm section includes: Max Sansalone, Mario Hébert, Francois Marion, Joanna Peters and Philippe Noirault. When asked why she chose that title, Janie chuckled: “What else represents our lives more than luggage? Everything in life is baggage – it’s the path we chose daily, the mistakes we make, the lessons learned, the dreams and the yearnings…all of it!
